Your body – an ally, not an enemy

Dallas Willard, former USC professor of Theology, teaches us about the entire person – mind, body and soul. He wrote something that has stuck with me. For many of us, especially young people, their body is the enemy. To them, they are too skinny, too fat, not pretty, not buff, and so on. However, when we release our entire person to God, including our body and reserve it for God’s blessings, our body is our ally. What can we possibly do without our bodies. It is the power package God created for us. We need to dedicate it to God, not misuse it. We need to trust God with our lives in this world “so we can take our hands off them” and give it to God. When we do, miraculous changes take place in our attitude toward our bodies.
