One of Jesus’parables was about comparing spreading the gospel to sowing seed. Some fall on good soil, some on rocky ground and others in fields where thorns and weeds fight with good plants for nutrition. The weeds of our life could be persons who don’t like us, difficulties in our life, anger that we hang on to and the discomfort they all bring. As we spread God’s Word we should first prepare the soil – by getting to know those we will share with. If we earn their respect and trust the chances of a successful crop go way up.
