What kind of valley do you find yourself in?

When Joshua led Israel to conquer the city of Jericho, the Lord gave a specific command that only Rahab and her family were to be spared and that the city belonged to the Lord and no spoils were to be taken. Yet, Achan, from the tribe of Judah, took spoils of silver and gold. Later in Ai, east of Bethel, the Lord revealed Achan to Joshua and Achan, his daughters and all his livestock were stoned, and everything was then burned in the valley of Achor. It could be called the Valley of Shame. Samauel 17:2 mentions the valley of Elah, where little David faced Goliath, who was over nine feet tall. Talk about stressful, huh? Elah, could be called the Valley of Stress. Psalm 84:6 mentions the valley of Baca, or Valley of Tears. But God is able to redeem us all from these valleys – even the Valley of the Shadow of Death…..our Shepard comforts and protects us. With His rod – to protect against those that would try to destroy us – and with His staff, with which he pulls us close to Him for safety and comfort. Therefore – we lack nothing!
