Words matter

In a series of poor communication on both sides, and without clear understanding, the Japanese launched their attack on Pearl Harbor even though the first wish on both sides was a peaceful treaty regarding Asia and Japan’s alliance with Hitler. Had communication been clear, the US may have never gone to war against Japan. Words matter. Understanding matters even more. It is essential that clarity prevail in all our dealings, both in business and, especially, in our personal relations. Misunderstandings can lead to hurt feelings and rash, unnecessary retaliation from others. Clear communication is essential.
