When we see suffering, how does it impact us? Do we blame God for not getting rid of it altogether? God has infinite power, wisdom and mercy – so why can’t He just make everything perfect? But there is another way to look at it. He allows evil to tempt and to bring down people who have been given freedom to live life their way. He has created all and is the first to arrive when called upon – He is the fastest and most powerful First Responder! He is present where suffering is. We need to be there, too. Not to try to explain it or offer advice – just to be there to offer comfort and love to the one needing it. That will make their suffering lessen. That is the good that can come from suffering.
