Fishers of Men

After convincing Simon to throw the net on the other side of the boat and watching the disciples’ glee at the huge catch, he told Simon to follow Him and He would make him a fisher of men. After realizing who he was speaking with, Simon agreed. What happened earlier? The fish wouldn’t take the bait and swim into their nets. The same should be true of dealing with difficult people – those that don’t seem to care about you, but only themselves. Don’t take their bait. Don’t confront them. Don’t leave, but stay….and be patient. Try keeping the situation in play. I’m only responsible for my behavior – not the other person. Be quick to listen and slow to anger, as James teaches. Pray! Pray that the Spirit will give you the correct response – just like Simon did.
