Sometimes, long after a party or other gathering, I will reflect back on it and often wonder what others thought of me when I left. Would they have appreciated the time spent with me, the conversations I had with them. Did I connect with them by listening more than I spoke? I cringe when I realize I didn’t. This is especially true after any success I may have recently had. Is that all I talked about? People like to talk about themselves. Did I give them that opportunity? Did I oppose any of their views? If so, what did that accomplish – other than leaving a bad impression with them. God is the author of my success – nothing I did my myself. I can’t forget that.
