We were created by God to feel pain to protect ourselves. But is that all? Or can it also be a signal that something is wrong? In a rat’s maze, the subjects will learn not to go down certain pathways because they will only lead to more pain. Pain happens to everyone. Are we being chastised by God? That isn’t logical. God cares deeply for us. After all, He created us. He will, however, use pain to direct us to better places. And not just physical pain, but emotional pain, as well. We learn more from pain that good vibes. Just like in the test for the rats, God wants to direct our paths so we don’t go down that rough road again. When we are tempted to risk it all, God will inflict pain to guide us to a better place.
