My wife is basically blind. She has a handicap and we have the handicapped sticker in our car which makes it a little easier to accompany me inside a store. She can’t see much but enjoys shopping with me and offering her advice for choices. She is handicapped, but not disabled. It’s because of her attitude. She is not about to let blindness rob her of her joy for life….and her love for her family and friends. Attitude is everything. Even gifted athletes can find improvement with the right coaching – because they don’t know everything. God will compensate for our weaknesses. My wife, Diane, has the most amazing senses of touch, hearing, taste, and smell. God has compensated for her lack of vision in many ways. But it is Diane’s will to not let her handicap lessen her life that helps her retain her joy for living. We can all learn from that.
