Now what? God created us in His image and He is a spirit. So we are a spirit acting human thanks to our bodies. Though we look similar, we couldn’t be more different inside. Life is complicated. It’s hard. Bad things happen to good people, including us. That’s the human part. On the other side, we don’t have to be captive to our bodily impulses: emotions, memories of the bad stuff and the resulting bitterness or hatred. We just have to pull ourselves away from the garbage. We don’t have to keep going back to partake of the same garbage. Though our hearts are a battlefield, we can be victorious by asking The Great Spirit, as the native Americans call Him, to get rid of our demons: fear, being performance-driven, feeling rejected and the sins of the world. Have you seen the film of the lion patiently following the herd of antelope until she notices the weak one falling behind? She separates it from the pack and the weak one’s life is over. Let’s not let that happen to us. Let’s be genuine good spirits as we continue with our human experience!
