Kids forced to make lifelong choices too early….

In Oregon, children as young as fifteen can receive sex-change surgery. That’s not all. At 15, teens in Oregon are able to, without their parent’s consent, have sex, receive birth control, take a pregnancy test, and get an abortion. Conversely, according to an article published by IJ Review, 15-year-olds are unable to smoke cigarettes or marijuana, drive alone, send or receive sexts, vote, work more than 18 hours a week, drink, eat unhealthy foods at school, get tattoos, administer aspirin at school or use a tanning bed. Adults actually passed this law. The brain’s frontal cortex is not fully loaded until about age 25 and yet Oregon is allowing a 15-year-old to make a life-changing decision that may not be able to be reversed. The are many mental health conditions that could cause confusion in a young person about their sexuality or gender. Close family members, and even extended family members, with their own mental deficiencies can contribute to this confusion. What’s the correct age for deciding intelligently? That’s hard to say – probably 25, but at least 18. Our Creator God doesn’t make mistakes….people do.
