How we attempt to conceal pain

A headache usually doesn’t start with an explosive shot of pain. It begins with a low, dull ache that just won’t go away and can grow into a full-blown migraine or cluster headache. By then, it’s often too painful to conceal with pain killers. We need to let that first ache get our complete attention. God has told us He will answer our knock on His door. He will never push us away. If we can learn to come to Him when we are feeling better and thinking with a clear head, He can accomplish more with us. He can help get rid of the underlying forces instead of us just trying to conceal the pain with medication. If we come to Him He will be like a good friend we see and approach them for a greeting – He will move toward us just like our friend comes toward us when we greet them. Later, when we see someone going through what we just experienced, we are able to comfort them because we know almost the exact pain.
