I’m a planner. Even just going on vacation, I need to know where we’re going, how long it will take to get there and how much it’s going to cost. I need to schedule each day and I research all the hotels and restaurants and sights to see. I figure, if I have a plan, I can always alter it slightly as we go along, but at least we won’t be too far off track. When the trip doesn’t go as planned, it bugs me. I need to learn to “chill out” and just let it happen. How about when more important life plans don’t develop as expected? Surprises are fun, but not when it becomes life-changing. God often sends us down a different road than the one on our map. In the end, we get to our destination and we appreciate it more, even if we got there later or we end up with an extra stop. Occasionally, we end up having to change our original plan and it’s not until we get to our final destination that we realize why things turned out differently. That’s because God is never late – not one minute.
