The world is enemy-occupied territory. God ordered the universe and we who are in His kingdom do not have to be controlled by what preoccupies the culture. This planet is a battlefield and we must be selective in what we allow ourselves to be conformed to. We need to be separate. We seek the mind of Christ, not the lies of the world. Culture is like a rip tide that must be properly navigated so that we don’t exhaust ourselves fighting against it….we need to swim off to the side in an ordered direction.
