Jesus’ half-brother, James, the leader of the Christian Church in Jerusalem, wrote in his opening chapter, verse 22: “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.” Listen to God’s Word – not man’s word. Culture has a way of trying to lead us like a pied piper. We justify poor choices as “keeping up” with the world. The problem is, it’s not just the world….it’s the world, the flesh and the devil. What we need to do is have better ideas coming from better thoughts emanating from a changed heart. Then we need to actually do what God’s word says. We need to act.
