Timothy Leary said this in the 60’s about psychedelic drugs, and to “think for yourself and question authority.” He was arrested 36 times around the world and Richard Nixon called him the most dangerous man in America. Think of the phrase in a different way and you can get a grip on the hope that comes from knowing God. Tune in to His Word, turn on to the quiet hope only He can bring, and drop out of the worldly culture. Of course, we must still be in the world, but we don’t have to be “of this world,” as Leary was. After his first wife died, he married and divorced four times…..and he was a psychologist! Too bad he never knew God.
