We Are Like an Iceberg

People only see the tip of us. What we want them to see. We put on our faces and our attitudes, but those closest to you know some of the deeper part of what’s below. The stuff we’re hiding. The Titanic sunk when it hit what appeared to be a routine chunk of ice. The deeper parts of us can collide with those we love and sink our relationships. Pressure, often self-inflicted, builds and adds weight to our spirit and drains us of it’s power. We can’t be honest with ourselves, let alone our closest loved ones. Bring your deepest fears to God. He already knows what they are and he’s waiting for us to ask Him to heal us. It doesn’t have to long prayer sessions. We text everyone else. Just shoot up a “text” to God when you are anxious and ask for His strength. Turn to Him instead of social media. You will only find more heartache there as you search for more likes.
