I’m not talking about COVID masks. Those are a personal choice or the law. I’m talking about the masks we wear figuratively when we have lost our identity. Our mind and emotions can be much like an iceberg – 95% of the problem is below the surface. We try to cover up our innermost breakdowns – such as bitterness by talking down to others to try to build ourselves up, we isolate ourselves when we hold back affection and we blame everyone else but ourselves for the mess we’re in. We were all kinds of masks that try to cover up who we really are deep down in the 95%. We need to find our identity by crying out to our Maker to take us back to those instances where we were hurt deeply and let Him explain to us how we can heal underneath and can remove the masks we hide behind – and just be ourselves….the ones who God made in the first place. He is the only source of healing.
