I can’t imagine not having freedom. Can you? But the ability to do anything you like (as long as it doesn’t break any laws) presents us with an occasional dilemma. Do we just do what feels good – in other words just giving in to our mental and physical desires? Do others follow our lead, such as family members or friends who depend on us to hold them accountable? In that case, instead of leading we are a corrupting influence, even though we were free to choose to do it. The punishment may not come from those upholding law and order, but it could come from God. He punishes those who lead others into the “dark alleys” of sin. Enjoy your freedom – because you are responsible for it!
