When something has aroused feelings of anger, we should follow some basic rules of not getting out-of-control. First, is to think about why bad thoughts have been aroused by something that has happened. Next, see what your initial response wants to be – and then stop it in it’s tracks. Use reasoning to help yourself calm down to rationally think of other options than the first one that comes to mind. Who knows – there may be a silver lining in what is happening. React with reason – not emotion.
