Could it be because you asked God to do what you want, rather than aligning your vision with God’s? Maybe your way would lead to trouble. After all, jails are full of people who thought their way was the road to success. God is the center of eternity – not us. If we are humble in our requests made know to God, He responds all the more. If we insist on having our own way, God will set that prayer aside for awhile to teach us a more important and lasting lesson.
