Crosby, Stills and Nash sang the song “Teach Your Children Well”…..that’s one of the key roles of a parent: helping our kids avoid the mistakes we made when we were young. Another job for parents is to remove obstacles we can see but our children can’t. We need to cut some ties holding them back. We also need to not overstep or abuse the authority we have – otherwise they will not respect authority. But the number one job of a parent is to give our children unconditional love.
