Forgiveness

Easy – right? Just kidding. What do you do when you hate the person who did that to you? Forgive them? Are you serious? It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done – maybe you, too. We have counted the cost to us personally. We blame the other for never being able to get over it. But it’s really us, isn’t it.? It’s hard because forgiveness involves mercy from us. And I’m not merciful. At least most of the time. I want them to suffer like I did. Then where are we? Back at square one – and I’ve been there too often. To move forward with our life it means releasing that person from our heart for what they did to us. It’s either destroy or rebuild the relationship. I’m done with square one.
