Meetings mostly have a life of their own. We can show up. There can even be a quorum. Will it go our way? Not always, that’s for sure. Victor Hugo once said, “Have enemies? Good! It means you have stood for something you believe in!” Debates can be invigorating because arguments that were not thought about by all participants can change understanding of complex subjects. I think God would have us engage and not abstain. We need to stand for love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. So let’s engage!
