Inside-Out

Think about the two or three pressure-packed times in your life? How did you react? For me, I remember being confused about what to do, grasping for a quick response to correct the problem; that didn’t always work out well. If we’re following God’s will, those times don’t fill us with fear. What is scary is when we take risks before really praying hard about something and waiting patiently for the right prompting from God. We’re afraid of missing a deadline and we jump ahead of God’s direction. Why does this happen to us? Inner conflict will be revealed in pressure situations. A smart coach recognizes this and calls a time out so everyone can calm down and think more clearly. Outward circumstances will not heal your inner problems. One of the fruits of the Spirit is patience. Don’t pray for it, though (LOL!) – just practice it by praying and waiting for that still small voice to whisper the plan to you.
