Knowing where you are and where you are going is the best way to calm down. If we go to God He will direct our way forward. Where is that map? In God’s Word. Those of us who were old enough at the time remember the words, “Houston, we have a problem.” The crew was calm through it all because they trusted NASA headquarters. They put their trust in the experts, who came up with a plan that worked. Miracle – yes! Jesus was away from God for thirty-three years, not even beginning His real ministry with His disciples until he was thirty. Yet He never doubted God’s plan for Him, even when this “man of sorrows” cried out to God. God isn’t aways obvious to the world. Dallas Willard wrote, “If you’re going to do apologetics in a way that is helpful for yourself and others, you’re going to have to explain why God is not more obvious than He is.” God is not obvious to those who do not want to see Him. God wants to hear you call to Him, “God, we have a problem” – then watch Him go to work!
