Jeremiah may have been a bullfrog in the Three Dog Night album, but he was also one of the prophets of the Old Testament. He was the one who probably complained the most. But he also learned great lessons from God. In Lamentations 3:27 he teaches: “It is good for a man that he should bear the yoke in his youth. Let him sit alone and be silent since He has laid it on him. Let him give his cheek to the smiter, let him be filled with reproach.” It is strong advice to youth – to hang in there during tough times; during those trials we need to spend time alone with God and listen to His still small voice; don’t complain, but pray and wait for the hope and victory only He can bring. It will turn out that all the initial fear was for nothing!
