I’m sure you’ve heard the old testament scripture in Jeremiah where God likens a potter reshaping a vessel of clay that didn’t turn out right. God told Jeremiah that, just like a potter can reshape a hunk of clay on the spinning wheel, so can God deal with people and nations. We are all in His hands. So our circumstances are not totally in our control, even though we think they are. We get ourselves in trouble and we can ruin relationships. God can reshape us like a potter with their clay. God may use the mess we’re in to reshape our character and increase our trust in Him. He may reshape our arrogance and make us into a fresh, simple vessel. He’s God and we’re not.
