If you can’t, it’s virtually impossible to love others. God’s first commandment is to love Him with all your heart, soul and mind. The second is like it “Love your neighbor as yourself.” So it starts with you. Love never gives up – so accept yourself with all your failings…because we all have those. To quote the apostle, Paul, love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never fails, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance. Piece of cake – right? (Never said it would be easy.) Let’s all try to work on at least one of those qualities this week – and apply it to YOURSELF!
